@Robinson

There's an intriguing feeling one gets when reading something with lingo that you don't understand, right?

The titles you mentioned are achieved by accruing lots of masterpoints, which are obtained by doing well in ACBL sanctioned events. The masterpoints and titles demonstrate experience more than anything, since you can never lose masterpoints like you can with a fide chess rating. Also, even if you don't play very well, your bound to win some events, since bridge - despite being a game with an insane skill curve - has a large amount of variance (more than poker.)

Also, as i'm sure you will be shocked to here (sarcasm), masterpoints have been inflated away. A masterpoint from 50 years ago is probably the equiv of 20 masterpoints today. So your grandmother's titles are certainly worth more than someone's "same" title that they achieved today.

I didn't understand much of the lingo, but enjoyed the read anyways. My late grandmother managed gold life master with sapphire distinguish (dunno exactly what that means), so I felt a connection to her while reading.

Exercise as soon as you wake up, ideally in bright light.

afaiu, natural light > artificial (even when cloudy, sunlight is undefeated). If you are using artificial, red light is best upon waking as it mimics the sunrise.

sometimes in life you have to torture people

I lol'd.
